Testimonials

I have been a client of Cheryl Lycette since 1998 and she has guided me through numerous ailments including the recovery of a brain aneurysm and stroke in which she has been instrumental.

My medical doctor and Cheryl communicate and share information regarding my condition and this is important to me. The naturapathic experience has always been very good and I am grateful for the compassionate and professional care that Cheryl provides her patients.

In 1993, I was a happy mother of four small children, working parttime as a Registered Nurse and was an active volunteer of our community and church. Then on a sunny afternoon in March while driving solo in my car, I was involved in a head-on-collision,at high speed. My body survived but due to multiple injuries to my head and limbs, I would be forever changed. The person I once was died and survival instinct took over my life. What followed for several years I can only characterize as chaos, as my decisions where impulsive and driven from a place in my being that I still have difficulty relating to. The head injury was all but ignored by the medical team that managed my recovery and I suffered from symptoms that affected my day to day life managing skills. As a result mental confusion, tears, and chronic pain in the severly injured reconstructed rt. knee, redefined what my life represented to me and I collasped into single parenting of my four young children and chronic fatique syndrone -life threatening hormone and physiologic imbalances.

Unsatisfied with conventional medical management that I was recieving, at that time, and being a nurse, I recognized the severe unwellness of my body state that was not improving, so I began to research natural health intervention. This lead me away from antidepressants, anti-inflammatories and pain medication -with all of their side-affects -to the office of Dr. Cheryl Lycette.

My first visit took place in May of 2000. I was greeted by the warm, respectful and friendly manner of Brian at reception and the office environment that immediately calms ones senses. I am still impressed with the punctual apt. shedule that is maintained. Dr.Cheryl does not keep you waiting!. By the time this first apt. had concluded and after many tears that I shed while she held my hand and offered understanding, acceptance and an abundance of knowledge and a diagnosis with remedies and solutions, I knew I had come to the right place for healing. It is remarkable that she has combined her education of botanical, chinese and energy healing with homeopathic and naturopathic medicines to deliver nothing short of an "angelic practice" to her clients.

I have been seeing Cheryl and Brian, with their ever-listening ears and open hearts for nearly 7 yrs. It's been a very rewarding experience for myself , following Dr's orders, to self-analysis to lifestyle changes. Cheryl , using her intuitive ability to guide and her vast knowledge of health, has encouraged and praised me as well as practiced patience when I stumbled . We are "fine tuning" my much healthier condition at present. My life has taken on a balanced status. One needs to keep in mind that good health is a continued effort throughout our lives and the growth challenges that we encounter along the journey will require having a conscientious and trusting doctor team as a friend and confidant. I give credit to Cheryl for litterally saving my life. My children also see Dr.Cheryl and Brian, with their own challenges of maintaining health in this ever frantic society.

"Storms of our lives leave us broken so we must rebuild." This rebuilding process is healing the mind, body and spirit-Naturopathic Medicine.

With admiration and gratitude,
Wanda and family.

The IPL sessions with Dr. Lycette were quick and easy. I was worried that the light pulses would be painful but the treatments were a breeze and Dr. Cheryl ensured I was comfortable throughout the session. She targeted my problem areas with precision, the results were just as she'd described, and it only took a few visits.

My name is Joan B. I live in Richmond County, NS. I heard about natural medicine from family members. When I first called the office in Berwick I was able to get an apppintment with Dr. Lois, but the waiting period was from 3 to 4 months. Just at this time a new graduate in natural medicine, Dr. Cheryl, had joined Dr. Lois at her office and was ready to take on new patients. Imagine my joy when Dr. Cheryl called me telling me I could see her in a week.

My health problems really started in 1971 during my second prgnancy ( I had one boy ). I gave birth to twin boys after 8 1/2 months - they died right after they were born. All of this was very hard, physically, emotionally and in every way.

After about three months I got prgnant again. I gave birth to a baby girl in 1972. She had come full term and was healthy. As for me, my immune system was very low. I kept menstruating twice a month losing large amounts of blood. This lasted for three years. During this time I consulted doctors and tried different remedies. Finally in 1975, I had a hysterectomy, even if the doctors found I was much too young.

I started having problems with sore joints - legs and face - headaches. Lumps came out on my neck and legs. I saw specialists and went to pain clinics, saw doctors for arthritis - I was even told I had MS.

My hand was so sore I couldn't put my jacket on. The doctors removed the nerve in one hand - more problems with my gums - mouth - the dentist removed my teeth but this caused more problems - the gums wouldn't heal. I needed new dentures - I had 4 sets in a short period of time and this didn't work either.

After about a year, the dentist decided to graft skin from my leg to fix my gums. The leg became infected also - more problems. The bones of the gums were shrinking too fast so dentures would not fit.

Finally I did see Dr. Cheryl in October 1993. It was a six hour drive to Berwick and it seemed to take forever since I was feeling so miserable. My husband gave me full support and helped me each step of the way. I was so weak ha had to carry me upstairs to her office. He filled out the forms. We had done this so often before. Wondering and even doubting the outcome.

That day we spent more than 2 hours with Cheryl. She checked the forms - we talked - she saw right away that I was very sick and wondered where to start the healing process. Cheryl wondered why I wasn't in the hospital. She started to try to build up my immune system with vitamins and other natural medicines, recommeding changes in diet. At the time I was eating very little.

We returned home with a bag of natural medicines and an appointment in a months time. I was to call her in 2 weeks to see how I was doing. Along with the medications I continued to receive B 12 and B 6 shot every second week, also other prescription medication. Now my diet consisted of whole wheat bread, home cooked cereal, no fats, no preservatives, and no dairy products.

On my second visit the trip didn't seem as long. As we talked, Cheryl adjusted some medications and added to it. Already she saw improvement. We continued these visits every month for the first year.

As time went on, I was on less medication and slowly feeling better. Others could see improvement in me and were asking about this natural medicine doctor, wanting to know more. Even my dentist was pleased. He noticed an improvement and was able to fit me with dentures. Many contacted Dr. Cheryl and they too were very happy with the results.

For me, I continued to see Cheryl about 4 to 6 times a year or when needed. Around this time, my husband Jimmy was consulting Cheryl as well. We were both very pleased with the results. By now, Cheryl had moved her office to Halifax and was working alone.

Even my medical doctor found I was improving. I was still getting B 12 and B 6 shots once a month. I was able to walk, do my house work, go out more and even go to dance now and then. This was so good!!!

Since about 2 years I'm not on any prescribed medicine and I continue on natural ones when I need them.

I am very thankful for all that has happened all those years yet there were difficult times and struggles along the way. With the support of my family, friends and Dr. Cheryl, I was able to continue my journey to better health.
