Naturopathic Education

It typically takes seven years to become a qualified naturopathic doctor. This training consists of pre-med, followed by four more years at a qualified school of naturopathic medicine. At present, there are only six such schools in North America, one of which is the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine located in Toronto, Ontario.

Therapies in which a naturopathic doctor is trained include homeopathy, acupuncture, nutrition, massage, counselling, naturopathic manipulation, and both Chinese and western herbal medicine. Having training in so many different therapies allows naturopathic doctors to design separate protocols for each individual patient. No other health profession offers patients this coordinated natural approach to health care.
