MEDILUX: Intense Pulsed Light ¬ Acne

The success of light-based acne treatments should come as no surprise since sun exposure has long been known to have a beneficial effect on patients with acne. The Medilux IPL uses concentrated pulses of light to attack acne on two fronts: it kills the bacteria that cause acne, and it damages the overactive glands that trap the bacteria and lead to more acne.

Acne treatments are quick and painless. Most patients describe the light pulses as a ‘snapping’ sensation, which causes mild discomfort at most. After the treatment, there may be some redness for about a week, but that quickly fades and the patient can enjoy the effects of blemish-free skin.
